One of the most productive approaches to restrict the access to your site is to block the IP addresses of the individuals that mustn't be able to open it. There are several reasons why you should do that. As an example, you may want a particular individual not to be able to see your Internet site, or you can restrict the access for an entire country. You may also block IP addresses in case you discover that there are way too many web browser requests from them, if a large number of spam comments are left within your websites or if a script login page has been loaded a large number of times. In any of these scenarios, the traffic is almost certainly fake and has been created by an automatic bot, so you could safely block any shady IP address, to be on the safe side. Thus, you'll also avoid the possibility of your web server getting overloaded by a lot of fake requests.
IP Blocking in Hosting
If you have a hosting account with our company and you want to block one or several IP addresses, you could use the IP Blocking tool, which is incorporated into our in-house built Hepsia CP. Through a rather simple interface, you can restrict any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it takes to perform this is to log in to your CP, to check out the IP Blocking section, to choose a particular domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to input the IP address. You won't have to do anything difficult if you'd like to block an entire network - you'll just have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot will block the whole range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs will be listed inside the same exact section, so you will be able to remove any of them from the blacklist with just a mouse click.
IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our semi-dedicated server accounts feature a really simple-to-use IP blocking tool, which will allow you to prohibit individual IPs or even entire networks from accessing your sites with justa couple of mouse clicks and you will not have any problems to accomplish that even if this is your first web hosting account. Once you navigate to the IP Blocking section of the Hepsia CP, you will just need to choose the domain or subdomain you need from a drop-down list, then type in the IP address inside a box that you will see there and you will be all set. To prohibit the access for a whole network, you must leave one or more octets blank. For instance, if you type in 123.123. and do not enter anything within the third and fourth positions, our web server will deny requests from all IP addresses between 123.123.1.1 and 123.123.255.255.
