A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent email addresses under the same domain. For example, a message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from friends or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
You will be able to create a catch-all e-mailbox effortlessly in case you’ve got a hosting account with our company. The Email Manager in our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel is full-featured, yet surprisingly user-friendly, and it will permit you to enable various features, including the catch-all one, with no more than a couple of clicks of the mouse. All the mailboxes that you have created will be listed in alphabetical order in this section and on the right-hand side of each of them you will see a small "Catch-all" icon. Clicking it once will activate the feature, clicking it for a second time will disable it. Since you can have only one such mailbox per domain, our system will inform you if you’ve already got a different mailbox with this option activated or if you’ve got enabled email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all address can be set up with a few clicks of the mouse if you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting service with us. The hosting account will be administered through our custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses using any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all feature for a given mailbox, you’ll have to click on the sign with the same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling the feature can be done in the exact same manner and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a given domain name, you will get a warning notice. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or modify any feature automatically.
